What I want to know is:  why look to the ancient past for truths about the present?  Culture has changed dramatically.  Science is the new paradigm, despite the Christians' objection to everything not in accordance with their sacred book.
Maybe history has something to teach us, but I doubt it will be applicable if looked at from the point of view of the culture that it came from.
