We appear to be doomed by our DNA to repeat the same destructive behaviors our forebears have repeated for millenia. If anything our problem solving skills have actually diminished with the advent of technology & our ubiquitous modern conveniences. & yet despite our predisposition towards fear-driven hostility; towards what we anachronistically term primitive behavior another instinct is just as firmly encoded in our make-up. We are capable as our ancestors were of incredible breathtaking acts of kindness. Every hour of every day a man risks his life at a moments notice to save another. Forget for a moment the belligerent benevolent billionaires who grant the unfortunate a crumb of costfree cake. I speak of pure acts of selflessness. A Mother who rushes into the street to save a child from a speeding vehicle. A person who runs into a burning building to reach a family trapped on the upper story. Such actions, such moments, such unconscious selfless decisions, define what it is to be human

Through me the way to the city of woe, Through me the way to everlasting pain, Through me the way among the lost.
Justice moved my maker on high.
Divine power made me, Wisdom supreme, and Primal love.
Before me nothing was but things eternal, and eternal I endure.
Abandon all hope, you who enter here.

No, it does not make me feel safer, nor will I mistake the lot for a school...

Not technically in office, but you know how that is.

Yes, George Soros is an evil mastermind secretly pulling the strings on nations around the world.

And this makes him different to every other successful businessman...how?

Placid Dingo

Haven't paid rent since 2014 with ONE WEIRD TRICK.

Placid Dingo

Actually I seem to remember an Adbusters article singing his praises, which in retrospect, was a bit odd.

Cain

He bankrolls progressive liberal causes in the USA and much of Europe, which makes him a scary bugbear for the Glenn Beck crowd, who are convinced progressives are the new Bolsheviks.  He's also Hungarian born, and Jewish, and made his fortune in international currency markets, the last two facts often being conflated and said with a knowing wink, especially on sites like Freerepublic and Stormfront.  This is of course, totally unacceptable, unlike the Koch brother's sponsorship of libertarian and conservative causes in America and Britain, which are noble, principle and totally selfless acts of private citizens.

The only people who really have a good reason to be annoyed by Soros are the British and Thailand, since he crashed the British and Thai economies before now.

did this one make anyone else sick and sad?

I stared at it a while, letting it sink in, the obvious imbalance, the disgusting symbolism.

Fucking racism. Fucking goddamn racism. It's right on, the artist got it; the emotional response is evidence of that.

Assume what you want to do with Beck, I didn't even know Beck got really into talking about this guy.  I know Soros is (one of) the richest men in the world, and comes across to me as a globalist.  I'm completely against globalism, you can disagree, but I'm sick of arguing for the day.

Judging from that picture, he's also a champion nose picker, though, and that has to count for something.
