Akira was alright.

BLARG!  The ending was the STUPIDEST SHIT I HAVE EVER SEEN!

I was suckered into watching that by a GF years ago, to show me that "not all anime sucks".  It did.  But so did she.  So I win.  Now shut up, all of you.

When I was a lad, moving pictures didn't have so much malarky!!!

If you see an anime this year, I recommend "Paprika".

I just watched it... Wow. You should probably go rent it immediately.

It feels really hard to follow in the beginning, but once it gets you used to where it's going the ride is intense.

- I don't see race. I just see cars going around in a circle.

I am, to my horror, watching an anime subbed as it is aired in japan. Moyashimon, also known as Tales of Agriculture, is about a group of university students at an agricultural university in Tokyo, and one of them, the main character, has the ability to see microorganisms with the naked eye (they look like little cartoony characters to him) and also talk to them. Its supposed to be educational, and its incredibly biogeek bent. Right up my alley, actually. Its one of the most hilarious things I've seen in a while.

But then, I'm kinky like that.

Wholly Archaeology, Bat Man!

Actually, now that I think about it, Desert Punk is rather full of win, compared to any other anime in existence.

Other than that, I'm currently watching Metalocalypse, which is probably the best cartoony thing ever done.

well, there's only, like, 47 people in Rhode Island that aren't either RISD or J&W students (who aren't really people anyway), so it's plausible.

If you throw in Brown students, then I suppose you've got a point there.

I told you.

In sheer intrusiveness into your friends lives, it beats Myspace hands down.  Did you know they intended to use your purchases made to advertise to your friends?  So, to use a real life example, if you bought an engagement ring from a certain jewellers with a Facebook profile, and your intended fiance was on your friends list, then Facebook would tell her and all your friends what you just did.

They also intended to use peoples pictures without their permisson to also advertise to their friends, but apparently it broke some silly laws stateside, so it got dropped.
