I'm not sure if it's available in Mac format, but KarmaFX is a brilliant freeware modular synth that gets some amazing 303 emulation sounds, with the ability to set the modulation for the cutoff/resonance for a more authentic acid sound. (Not very CPU friendly or for those that aren't willing to deal with the steep learning curve of modular or just modding presets.)
