Im sure that as far back in the anals of history as you care to dig, for as long as monkeys have been trying to impose order and discipline on their compatriots, there has been a small minority of asshats and fuckheads who see just how hilarious this premise is and endeavour to poke fun at it and otherwise derail the best laid schemes.

In the 60's they gave it a name is all. Troof is the smart primates have been discordian since before they invented language.

I'd say I'm definitely not first generation, second generation if anything.  But I think SC hit the nail on the head.  Discordianism is really just a box that contains a collection of thoughts and ideas that I'm sure some people have had over the years.  Hill and Thornley were just the first to "categorize" it.  I think concentrating on having Discordianism grow up is a wrong focusing of energy.  I think just talking about the basics, the "think for yourself schmuck" and the cultural grids ideas, amongst others, is the way to go.  I personally, also think the taking seriousness humorously/humor seriously meme is an important one as well.  

I could care less if the Discordian label survives going forward.  I'm more interested in seeing more elements of society open up to some of its ideas in some way.  

Oh, and I'm 31, so I won't budge the avg much.

You see how it has already evolved? The BIP, Church of Sub-Genni, POEE, etc have already grown from or were inspired by PD. The writers of PD probably didn't intend for any of this to happen. The trick is to make sure the basic "think for yourself" principle/right/whatever is never violated or oppressed while this change takes place.

Some may not want Discordianism (or whatever you want to call it) to grow up, but it will continue to grow and change whether you want it to or not.
