It's awesomely bad.

If you don't know Rowdy Roddy Piper, he's a professional wrestler.  That should give you some idea.

Also, it has dialogue like, "I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass.  And I'm all out of bubblegum."

And it has a 15-minute fight scene over whether or not Piper should put on the magic sunglasses.

Get fucked up before watching it.

A movie basically designed for me to sit around and pretend like I'm a member of the MST3K cast? 8)

Ye gods! My heart is all a-flutter with delight!

That dialogue is officially for the win. Now I must see this movie.

good. then at least i know i'm looking for the right kind of funny in this series :)

loved the bit where one of the robots imitated the typical funky wahwah guitar bassline :)

did you also see their feature movie "this island earth"? it was also very good, it's got a slightly higher jokes-ratio, cause i think they didn't completely improvise it.

"This Island Earth" was fantastic. I am trying to hunt down a DVD of it for myself.

Other favorites include:
"The Girl In Gold Boots"
"Time Chasers"
"Space Mutiny"
"Parts: The Clonus Horror" (watch that MST3K episode and you will never look at "The Island" the same again...)

I haven't seen "Mitchell" but I'll definitely put it on my list.

Islan earth was a Mike one.

The Joel ones are better by a factor of about 50.

Also:  "Mano, Hands of Fate"

And there was this Hercules one with "saaaaandstooorm..."

AFK

"Pod People" is my favorite.  Their treatment of that whole freakout scene when the pod guy makes all the stuff fly around in the kids room was hilarious.

i couldn't find much difference between them myself.

some of them were good, some bad.

and when they're bad you just wasted 60 minutes of your life, which is why i prefer them while stoned. i find it helps.

also, this island earth was very funny, no matter who it was

was that with hercules? don't remember

i remember there was one with sandstorm scenes that took ages .. THE SAND THE SAND they already hinted during the first part.

well that was a fun movie :) nice concept, could use some rewriting of half the script, but the main characters were a bit like Big Gay Cowboys with Sunglasses, which was good.
