Both Faust and me keep backups of the board. With the server located in the US, that gives us redundancy over three fucking continents. Yep, I'm pretty sure "all this" is here to stay for a loooong time :lulz:

We still have backups of all MLA forums from history... it's just completely incompatible with the code for the current site :(

And this is the root cause of your problems...like the users there perpetually moaning about Wilson's dead ass, the forum software is so slow and clunky that you'll never get anyone new to use it, but you can't bring yourself to scrap it and get something useful because of past glories.

I'm coming to the conclusion RAW is kinda like Jesus: his fanclub can be annoying as fuck, and he'd probably not approve of the manner in which he is being revered.

Not thinking of MLA in particular to be honest, though some could no doubt make the argument, I just had a run-in with Shawn Darkwolf or whatever his name is on MW, droning on about how history isn't real because it is biased or something, and how RAW would approve.  Bleh.  I'm sure RAW had better things to do with his time than approve sloppy solipsists on internet forums.

Yeah, well I just asked him if he disbelieves in history, does he also disbelieve in the Holocaust, so he'll either have to admit to being a Holocaut denier, or admit his stance is full of shit.  Either way I win.

I just wanted to mention that.  Alot of people who are very vocal about reading RAW come across as smarmy pricks.  Like very vocal Christians.  I know they'd be fundies no matter what they latched onto, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

It's true, I felt myself becoming one a few years back.  So I forced myself to go back through all his books and pay attention to the many parts I disagreed with.  It helped a lot.
