I have to admit that there is a part of me that hopes BIP doesn't fall victim to some of the rather un-PD stuff that got posted in the PD section.  I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that it won't happen with BIP.

I always figured that if we were going to move anything to the top it would be Apple Talk, since that's the catch-all bullshit forum that also contains the Noob introduction thread. I was half convinced that the reason Principia Discussion got tons of random crap was that it was at the top - I'm with LMNO in seeing if the BIP gathers the same level of shite now that IT has the "top spot" (no better way to test the theory after all). We can always move it again later if it gets too full of cock, repost and fail (well, MORE full of cock, repost and fail  ).

Yup, and I think you're on the mark with Apple Talk.  IF the BIP starts getting shit tacked onto it that would be my recommendation.  Move BIP back down to the bottom and put Apple Talk on top.

one point of view from a n00b...

I purposefully avoided the BIP section for the first few days/week because it did seem to be the more "serious" section of the forum and figured I'd wander around the other shiite for a little while before posting there. The fact that the BIP was towards the bottom helped support that reasoning to me, that's my perception.

Also, did not post first in the intro section, didn't see it at first. Maybe it would help to have intros in whatever the top section was. Did find the "bring and brag" section to make my own introduction and post links to videos, so that worked.

everybody can see that so far the "principia discussion" subforum, which used to be on top, functioned as a landing zone for stoopid n00b chattery about hotdogs and christian discordians and what ever for fuck shit. though still funny to bash em for it.

i suggest:

1) let's wait until that happens to the BIP forum once or twice, so everybody can see who was right
2) move the "principia discussion" subforum back above it
3) rename it to ZOMG23
4) decide it's exempt from the 50 post suggestion

though afterwards, TOG & RWHN are right about using Apple Talk for the catch-all, and mentioning "post your introductions here" in the description would probably help a lot as well for the n00bs to find the right place.

If BIP starts to get crapped up

--and by the way, right now the only threads crapping it up are "Just call me nigger" (which was from down below) and this one

swap it down one.
If Principia Discussion catches all the n00bery because it's on top, we should put Apple Talk on top, then BIP below it, then PrincDisc. right below that.

That way the meat will still be visible, though it won't be drawing the entire asshats anonymous congregation

But honestly until we start seeing noobs post their intro threads here, this is all a null point. Having newbies come look at this forum is good, fresh perspectives can lead to memetic evolution. Yes, they can crap it up too, but that's going to happen whenever you have a higher volume of posts.
