TURKISH SALVAR MARK 1

Thank god I have lots of cheap fabric to play with. My formal ones will have to be adjusted...a lot. They're SUPPOSED to be this baggy, but my ankles need to be more defined.

Nice hammer pants! A woman that was in my class made several pairs of those floppy Turkish pants. She's Turkish if that helps. The look really cool.

After an unwarranted amount of spending today at the event, I now own that $35 Reconstructing History pattern for Ottoman woman's clothing because she was there and I saved on shipping.  :kingmeh:

I know...I know...If it makes any of you all feel better, everything I purchased is going to my formal Turkish ensemble in some way or another, be it handcarved beads of genuine jet or frighteningly tacky orange trim to be used as a bias tape (you'd love this stuff, Nigel)....Except those Guide to Bad Garb books, I just couldn't resist!

Suu
-Will certainly find herself turning into a cranky garb Laurel as much as she tells herself not to, especially when Kass McCann of Reconstructinghistory.com chanted at me, "One of us! One of us!"
