Have you tried Art Rage pro?  My fiance draws things on her computer machine, and that's a neat "artsy" programs that's affordable ($20).  It does neat things, a bit differently from photoshop/painter/etc.

i'll check it out sometime perhaps. i got painter free with my tablet
well by "free" i mean  they included it in the extreme expensiveness
