Farmer Bob was taking a walk.  As he was going past Farmer Jim's livestock pen, he noticed a three legged goat tied to the fence, munching on some grass.  Bob knew Farmer Jim was very careful with his animals so he was puzzled by the goat's missing leg.  He ambled over to Jim's barn to ask him about it.

"Well, Bob,", said farmer Jim, "Let me tell you something.  That there is one HELL of a goat."

"Fine animal, I'd agree Jim, but why the missing leg?", Bob replied.

"That goat is uncommonly intelligent, I'll tell you.  It can watch the farm and her sheep better than any hound.  If there's a fire, tha goat will know it, and move any other sheep, cow, or goat away from it.  It even saved my son when he slipped into the creek last fall."

"Yeah, sure, but what does that have to do with it's leg?", asked a slightly annoyed Bob.

Farmer Jim just looked at Bob with a wry smile.
"Bob, you don't go eatin' a goat like that all at once."
