Bump:

The Stooges are going to get another crack at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Along with Kiss, Abba, Donna Summer, Genesis, The Hollies, LL Cool J, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=127463

Only 5 get inducted and so here is my prediction:

Kiss
Genesis
The Hollies
LL Cool J
RHCP

Well, 2 out of 5 ain't bad.  So the winners are: (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34431089/ns/entertainment-music/)

ABBA
The Hollies
Genesis
Jimmy Cliff
and yes...
The Stooges

I bet Gene Simmons is pissed.

Is there some sort of rule that one of the guys has to die first, so they'll never receive the recognition they deserved?

RIP, Ron Asheton.

So, the nominees for the class of 2011 were:

Alice Cooper
Beastie Boys
Bon Jovi
Chic
Neil Diamond
Donovan
Dr. John
J. Geils Band
LL Cool J
Darlene Love
Laura Nyro
Donna Summer
Joe Tex
Tom Waits
Chuck Willis

The inductees are:  Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John, Darlene Love and a couple other spags.

Of course it's a gigantic sham, but Cooper should've been in long ago, and as much as I can't stand him, Diamond probably should've been in awhile ago too.  Though, I would've picked the Beastie Boys over him.  Also good to see Waits get in.

Also, also Bon Jovi should never get in, ever.

I was pretty thrilled about Tom Waits getting in, myself.

Same.  Good to see Dr John getting some love, too.

Jenne

This reminds me I meant to buy Neil Diamond's new album on iTunes.

AFK

It's a pretty good group this year.  Hard to really argue against anyone on the list.  Should be a good concert too, I hope VH1 airs it again.  Will be really cool to see the Coop perform with the original band.
