no, that's good, the "beginner mindset" is one of the most useful headspaces. It means you're still trying to figure stuff out, as opposed to people who think they "understand" (and thereby stop learning and testing themselves). Hang on to that.

Abramelin

Lets summarize:

1. ask questions, escpecially this ones which sounds stupid and senseless
2. don't be too sure that your point of view is the true one, you're wrong
3. don't listen too much to people which say you're wrong
4. don't summarize to say what discordian is.

5. discordian is, what you think discordian is. and it isn't.

Paiyaku

Well, I am not looking for a crutch or something like that, I am asking all the questions I have, to get them answered and not be wondering later on. Discordians put emphasis on disorder, so in other words, they cause disorder?

I guess a question another question would be, why do you guys say random things in here? What does that have to do with Discordia?

Paiyaku

On the last reply, Discordia is what you think it is, it isn't. That means Discordia is what I want it to be, but at the same time it isn't what i want it to be?

Because the crux of the biscuit really is the apostrophe.

1) Discordians do NOT put emphasis on disorder.  That is the Eristic Delusion.

2)  "Random" as a term seems to have a different definition than it used to.  I'm not certain which context you are using it in here.  Young people of today seem to use it as a synonym for bizarre, which is not what it means.  Random means random.  To say random things would mean to pop out things like "Toaster.  Penguin.  Mouse trap.  Cry.  House."  Try posting that sort of stuff here and see how far it gets you.  So, which -exactly- are the random things here you have noticed?

"Soon all of us will have special names" — Professor Brian O'Blivion

"Now's not the time to get silly, so wear your big boots and jump on the garbage clowns." — Bob Dylan?

"Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
— Walt Whitman

Exactly, just likethat statement lol,

If you stop wondering, you are doing it wrong.  NEVER stop wondering.  A conclusion is simply where you stopped thinking.

QuoteDiscordians put emphasis on disorder, so in other words, they cause disorder?

No.  Some might, but I think that is doing it wrong.  Instead, I think the way to approach order and disorder, is through the lens of creative and destructive.

Random is in the eye of the beholder.  Honestly, if you were to jump into ANY online community, you would probably have a perception of randomness if you aren't familiar with what it is they are talking about.  It's important to realize that we are all still monkeys.  We have our chats aboud Discordia, but we also talk about meaningless bullshit as much as other humans do.
Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

Just because most of us here call ourselves Discordian, that doesn't mean we're not just another pack of territorial monkeys, with our own set of behaviors, taboos, humor, and specialized language.

If you stick around long enough, you'll see that us posting things such as:

Mittens
Motorcycle
"Spag"
Pterodactyl (sweet merciful fuck!)

and the alphabet soup of acronyms (ITT, KYS, FTB, tl;dr, TITCM)

Are all part of the lingo around here.

Many of us are also into Surreal and non-sequitor humor (a la Monty Python, Kids in the Hall, Human Giant, etc), so much of it comes from that, too.

I realize that RWHN just said this.  Fuck it, I'm saying it again.

Blame him for a lot of things.

Paiyaku

So the random things here is not just random babble, it's lingo?

LMNO

Or it's non-sequitor attempts at humor.

Or, it really is random.

Could be a lot of things.  Case-by-case basis works best.
