Misapplication of cat gravity can cause cavity.
:lulz: nice!

any way I see no reason to waste a thread, so here are some pics of mah sewing! I had been going to school to become a tailor but I started working third shift full time and I just could not finish. I'll go back some time, soon I hope but until then I'm learning on my own.

This is a project I made in the class, It was out first one. An apron to keep track of all our sewing stuffs.

My dress form, which I snagged from my mom's garage, dose not have a base so I use the cat's scratching post. They don't mind, those fuckers don't use the thing anyway. (They are too busy fixing mah blinds!)

When my mom bought the thing it did have a base, I think she got it cheap because the craft store was going out of business. If you get one new I think they run about $80-$150. That I'm sure is a conservative estimate. If you want to get a full dress form with arms and legs I have no clue what those run, only they they are heavy and in my experience heavy things are expensive.  :|
You should ask Suu, she sews very well and her dress form looks much newer, or better taken care of than mine. She may have better info.

Nice.  I'd wear it!

Thank you very much! I really LOVE that fabric, I got it at the thrift store and I really wish I could find some more.

my GF does custom vintage reproduction clothes and alterations for a living, and most of her forms have run between $40 and $60 on ebay and/or craigslist. Costs more if you want one with arms or legs, but those generally aren't necessary unless you're doing some sort of strange custom fitting for a person with gigantism or something.

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

My dressform I got from eBay for about $120, and it's vintage and a bitch to adjust. A lot of the newer ones that adjust with dials will run you upwards of about $200...or you can make one out of duct tape and an old t-shirt.

Hmmm.
I need my duct tape for protection againsts terrrists.
I guess i'll have to save up for a real one.  My primary motivation is to encourage her to become good enough that she can make and tailor me victorian era gentleman's clothing to go with the handlebar mustache that she doesn't know im in the process of growing.

Good plan! Distract her from the mustache with an expensive gift!
