So is there or is there not a BotSB download?

Check the links in Principia Discussion, under the Discordian books thread (stickied).

Found it!!  Thanks Cain!!!

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

to be honest, I've never made it through the Book of the Subgenius.

You're not supposed to.

You're supposed to open it at random and read.

And the "we're better than them" bit is, well, the fact that the CotSG is a direct parody of Scientology.

Richter

I have only met a few real Subgenii.  One was a crazed Irish schoolteacher who wrote poetry and would sell everything back in the early ebay days under extreme PT Banum logic.

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

That's a genuine holy man, that is.

I read the book from cover to cover, almost in one sitting, for whatever reason, it really sucked me in.  For any Devin Townsend fans out there, I highly recommend reading the book while listening to the Biomech CD by Ocean Machine/Devin Townsend.

I think it was Doktor Loki earlier in this thread who said it has more mouth froth than Discordia, and that is very true.  It does appeal to the "mad as hell" streak in me, that Discordia just doesn't ever really tap into.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the whole "Earth is Hell" meme.  I know the thing was written like 30 years ago, but when you read that section, it can just as easily apply to the nonsense that is going on today.  In fact, just thinking about this now is inspiring me to go back and read it again.  If it weren't for the money-bit, and the Alien X-day bit, I probably would've gone more in the SG direction than the PD.
Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

He decided the existing english curriculum sucked, and slipped in Lovecraft to spice things up.  He had a hell of a time explaining the horror of "Pickman's Model" to a class of (supposedly "honors program") freshmen.
I once asked him for a recomendation to college.  It consited of a scrap of cheap notebook paper with the following.

"Dear whatever,
Richter smart, college good for Richter.
He know stuff, and row boat.
Moo.

I sure as hell hope you both kept that, and used it.

Richter

Of course.  It was too good not to.  :lulz:
