It's still up for debate as far as I am concerned as to whether all stormtroopers are clones.

Really? I thought the clonishness was part of the S.T. premise. Is their a volunteer branch or something?

This play, however, is an affirmation of life—not an attempt to bring order out of chaos nor to suggest improvements in creation, but simply a way of waking up to the very life we're living, which is so excellent once one gets one's mind and one's desires out of its way and lets it act of its own accord. - John Cage

I'm not sure what the canon says, but in Ep. IV, when Luke says he is going to join the academy, I've always assumed it was to be a stormtrooper...

But then again, Leia does he is a little short to be a stormtrooper, which would lend credence to them all being the same height.

An excellent point.

I'm used to inventing reasons for plot holes/weaknesses in Trek (an amusing mental exercise - I can explain away well over half the shit in "The Nit-Picker's Guide To Star Trek") but I'm not as experienced doing so with Star Wars.

At least within the film series, the story inconsistencies are hilarious. The presence of C3-PO & R2 in the pre-quels, their relationship to both Anakin and OBI-WAN then magically erased in "A NEW HOPE", WOW

How so?  It says right at the end of Ep III that C3PO's mind is wiped, and R2 certainly seems to know what he is doing in Ep IV...  most R2 units look alike, so why would Obi Wan recognize it?  Besides, its displayed many times that Obi Wan doesn't really think of droids as people.

This actually was another, related problem I was having with Clone Wars.  On the one hand there's a significant effort made to make droids act more like people.  On the other hand droids are routinely killed/destroyed without a second thought or any shred of remorse.  Its just fucking weird is all.

Yeah. although i liked the thing overall, the fact that the droid army grunts were made to act as comic relief was annoying.  I thought the whole point of the droid army guys were that they looked very minimally human, so you could get away with destroying them in mass and not feel bad?

Eater of Clowns

I am, to the very core, a villain enthusiast.  I think a lot of great movies, books, and video games are defined by the villain.  That being said, my favorite character is Darth Vader, and by a long shot.  Episodes I, II, & III did quite a bit to ruin the character, but were forgivable for the most part as, even after Anakin "becomes" Darth Vader, he isn't really Vader until he dons that suit.  The most ruinous part was when he fell to his knees and gave a half-assed "NOOOO," but even that I can forget because of the time elapsed between III and IV.

I love that first force choke.
I love "I find your lack of faith disturbing."
I love the breathing and the voice.
I love "Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son."
I love, LOVE the Imperial March.

I can remember watching the original trilogy when I was a kid, maybe 7 or 8 years old, and just being completely awed by him.

Least favorite character - Jar Jar Binks.  It's like that kid in school that everyone can't stand, but you're nice to because you feel bad for him so he thinks you're his friend.

I love Darth Vader too... he didn't fall to his knees, though.

And I can't imagine Darth later howling "NOOOO" like that, I think it was the last whine of Anakin Skywalker, and then he died.

I think the same is very true of the troopers. In both the "Clone Wars" films and animated, Storm Troopers ask no questions and just head into the heavy fire. But that's they're role I guess. Droids get recognized for their actions in sort of heroic achievement manner, but they totally get used.

Even though I'm drunk, I still think the links associated with R2 & C3-PO have reality glitches. OBI-WAN can't be that daft. Why doesn't Vader sense the familiar presence of his own droid? Luke's uncle owned 3PO and then buys him again, not realizing it? I'm too drunk to think of more...

There must be hundreds of droids who look just like C-3PO and R2, we just don't see them for confusions sake, is my take.

And, about the feelings of the force, well, since droids aren't technically alive maybe the force has no way to touch them, and they are essentially invisible to it?
