Pi is actually the least interesting Darren Aronofsky film, Requiem for a Dream is an beautifully shot and acted film and has an awesome score by Clint mansell.
And then theres "The Fountain", don't read up on it at all, its a film thats worth watching and the less people say about it the better.
I'm torn Between it and Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf for my favorite film of all time.

I just had a Look at Darren's IMDB and it looks like he is making a new Robocop film, that will be... interesting to see.

yeah, Pi was utter crap.

Requiem for a Dream was one of the most powerful and disturbing movies I've ever seen, though it may have had as much to do with where my life was going when I saw it as it did with the film itself.

Its very nicely shot, minimal on the plot, good atmosphere, fairly good cast but still feels like a lot is missing for some reason, maybe because of the sense of panic that instilled in the second half might leave it feeling a bit rushed.
