This, ironically, is what happened to my 32 year old brother and his wife (who by now are teetering on the edge of divorce--another fallout of this economy's deluge of fucktardedness).  They had a clothing store, and it failed.  He had 2 other business enterprises, they failed.  3 failed businesses in 3 years, and now they are in the midst of a nasty BK move, having walked away from their house they'd owned since '99 last year.

Sigh.
