Colonel Failure

Ok, I'll throw this in here... I wrote it 5 years ago, haven't dusted it off in about 2 years, but with shrub's Operation: Haliburton, it seems somewhat topical again... It's long and still a bit clunky in places, though... just warnin' ya...

There All Honor Lies

Show me horrors everyday
Down upon your knees, you prey
Violence and hipocrisy
Grief and sorrow, but none from me
Images of blood and tears
Look distant after all these years
Talk of Honor, Duty, Pride
But I am long since dead inside
I am long since dead inside

And I know where all honor lies
I can see it in their eyes
As they suffer and they die
I know where their honor lies
I know where their honor lies

Hoist the banner and wave it proud
Hold the line and stand your ground
Draw a line deep in the sand
Might made right by your own hand
Flags are waving high above
The line drawn deep in our children's blood
Preach your cause with noble eyes
But I know where your honor lies
I know where your honor lies

And I know where all honor lies
I have seen it in their eyes
As they suffered and they died
I know where their honor lies
I know where their honor lies

Talk to me of wounded pride
Talk to me of wrong and right
Talk to me of genocide
Talk to me of genocide

Obligations, promises made
Religious war, divine crusade
Moral mask that I see through
Repeat the lie to make it true
Sacrifice the young and blind
Your honor will be satisfied
But you are long since dead inside
You are long since dead inside

But I know where all honor lies
I have seen it in their eyes
I have seen them crucified
I know where their honor lies
I know where their honor lies

And I know where all honor lies
I can see it in their eyes
I have watched them as they died
I have seen their fratricide
I have seen their genocide
And I know where all honor lies
I have seen it in their eyes
I have seen them crucified
I have seen them plead and cry
I have heard them beg to die
And I have seen your wretched lie
I recognize the thin disguise
Hidden in your lying eyes
I am left numb by the size
Of the sea of bodies left behind

But I know where all honor lies
I have seen it in their eyes
As they suffer and they die
I know where their honor lies
I know where their honor lies

And I know where all honor lies
I can see it in their eyes
I have seen them crucified
I know where all honor lies
I know where all honor lies

Feed the cycle, feed the machine
feed the tyrant's twisted dream
Dead for country, dead for king
As if that ever changed anything
As if that ever changed anything

There amidst the gardens of stone

There All Honor Lies

All I knew, all I believed
Are crumbling images
No longer comforting me.
Scramble to reach higher ground,
Order and sanity,
Something to comfort me.

I take what is mine, and hold what is mine,
Suffocate what is mine, and bury what's mine.
Soon the water will come
And claim what is mine.
I must leave it behind,
And climb to a new place now.

This ground is not the rock I thought it to be.

Do you believe
In the lies, the lies, the lies that shape your world?
Do you believe
In your own, your own, fictitious immortality?

The world won't end while you walk the earth
And when you realize that your life don't matter
You'll turn to something to help you forget
That you're only young once, old forever

And we become what we hate
(Don't think of us)

hmm dusting off   good idea   .......

collapsing cycles bring forth the new dawn a golden order....but to know and still be able to embrace the apathetic destruction of the great satan..

The door swung open as upside-down boy entered. all eyes fell upon him , his presence while foretold was unexpected...llillith most of was taken aback . having left his soul tied to the tree of knowledge . she was sure the wolf still guarded .. butt there he stood the child of both neaderthal and the invaders from the south....those with less hair on their bodies and the darker colour ..to free this yeti child some one or something must of payed dearly...however now was the time for action...sensing her desire peanut butter and marmalaude rose and flanked pineal warrior...
the room was held in electric shock as the upiside-down boy lashed out ...terrorism from within bringing about babylons fall..butt stifled entertained masses were infomed by the media of yet anouther popstar scandle ..so the story of poor upside down boy is buried on the left coloum of page 45 under the ad for new big screen televisions...

five years passed but upside down boy had witheld from all attempt to remold him into a consumer of culture.. the tests while devious and at times ditracting.. like the morning he awoke as if from a dream and was in anothers life....butt the walls bled with the screams of unborn ..the boundry push and shove game in relationships wore at thr heart of him. as time passed at releases proved to be yet more of a box constricting walls...inside his head cutting off the flow of pineal oils and yet with such pure evil intent Gia's child was fooled..luckily never for long eris's love was so absent it was unto like being in her notice...so plodding yeti strides the upside-down boy greeted the future
...
Myths and legends die hard in America. We love them for the extra dimension they provide, the illusion of near-infinite possibility to erase the narrow confines of most men's reality. Weird heroes and mold-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of "the rat race" is not yet final.

I like it, too.
It reminds me of the time I wandered through Arlington National Cemetary....it was so sad.

PS: Did you guys know that Lincoln started Arlington on the grounds of Robert E Lee's home during the civil war?
When Lee came home from the war his plantation was filled with the bodies of the union dead.
just like in a dream
you'll open your mouth to scream
and you won't make a sound

you can't believe your eyes
you can't believe your ears
you can't believe your friends
you can't believe you're here

Not too sure. I know that the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is right smack in the middle of what used to be Mrs. Lee's rose garden. The house itself is right up behind the tomb. It sits on a hill and overlooks what is now acre after acre of tombstones. Highly ironic.

*lol* Lincoln saying to Lee: "I never promised you a rose garden."
