Already planning a hunger strike against the inhumane draconian right winger/neoliberal gun bans. Gun control is also one of the worst forms of torture. Without guns/weapons its like merely existing and not living.

I'm really into *some Bastard Noise. Right now my favorite album is "Galactic Sanitarium":

Noise done well, imo.

A friend got me into Ezra Furman earlier this year.

The Train Comes Through is how I'm choosing to start my Boxing Day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhcFaptx7jg

I listen to hyperaggressive music 99% of the time, but the past couple days it's been weird dreamy ambient and this R&B+metalcore project, VRSTY. I'm not joking, that's exactly what this is. It's top 40s radio-R&B with panic chords and breakdowns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl1O8jLsQzk

There's over 100 of us in this meat-suit. You'd think it runs like a ship, but it's more like a hundred and ten angry ghosts having an old-school QuakeWorld tournament, three people desperately trying to make sure the gamers don't go hungry or soil themselves, and the Facilities manager weeping in the corner as the garbage piles high.

Insane occultic/apocalyptic noise rock. There is nothing that sounds like Haunted Horses on a roll. Window Sung is like Bambara being beaten up by Author & Punisher. Severed Circle abuses a surf rock rhythm tip-tapping over bass like the heartbeat of an awakening abyssal deity and ghostly synth wailing. Thorns sounds like it belongs in a horror movie soundtrack. And The Garden ... well. Just listen to that shit.

Brother Mythos

I became a Mark Knopfler fan while hearing 'Sultans of Swing' for the first time. So, I was pleased to recently find he has his own YouTube channel, and it has long playlist.

Still, I didn't expect to find a song about an unpopular, and largely forgotten, African American boxer among a British musician's offerings.

'Song for Sonny Liston' will, of course, not suit everyone's taste in music. But, Knopfler's live performance is good, his style is unique, and his lyrics are an accurate biography of Sonny Liston's life and death.

As this recording is from a live performance, some of the words are a bit hard to understand. So, here's a link to the song's lyrics:

And, here's the link to the music itself:

"Jock the Singing Welder" - The Last Ship, super deluxe package bonus disc album, by Sting.

This song was not performed in The Last Ship, the musical, or on the regular album release. I found this video entirely by accident.

"Jock the Singing Welder" will, of course, not be to everyone's taste, but the performance is excellent.

Henry Thomas - "Going Up the Country" (1928)

Before it became background music for a motorcycle insurance commercial, "Going Up the Country," by Canned Heat of Woodstock fame, was a hippy anthem. But, until I accidentally found this recording, I did not know the tune had deep roots in Delta Blues.

It is yet another Ezra day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0DRVh9nn0E

I killed myself but I'm still around
I think the living dead will like me better now
I'm gonna socialize I'm gonna go out more
I'll be so beautiful with nothing at the core
I had an existential crisis and all I got was this stupid gender.

Goofy slam death.

Ever wanted to get into death metal but don't like the high percentage of Nazis and pretentious, self-important hipsters that cobble every inch of extreme metal like ticks on a snake? Ever wonder if these guys even enjoy making their goofy ass pig-grunt chug-chug music? Ever wish you could see a metal band just hanging out and being doofuses?

For your listening pleasure, I present to you Snuffed On Sight. Please enjoy.

The Rolling Stones - "Gimme Shelter" - the best version ever

I agree with the title of this YouTube video. When it comes to longevity, I can't think of any top band that has managed to survive longer than The Rolling Stones. And, it's Lisa Fischer who really makes this particular live performance the best version ever.

"Linda Ronstadt - Just One Look (Live)"

I was just reminded that it's Linda Ronstadt's birthday today. So, this is an appropriate time to show her off in one of my favorite live performances.

"Dire Straits - Industrial Disease (1982)"

I was wondering if I had any Discordian worthy songs in my collection, and this one came to mind. It may not be dark enough for everyone's taste, but it works for me.
