          as with most eighties music, you had to be there to really get it. He was considered pretty kool then, like a sublime alternative to David Bowie or talking heads. Seriously though, that early seventies "Genesis" stuff, when he was their singer and Phil Collins was on drumbs, was all whacked out performance art prog-ish WTF. For fans of King Crimson and YES.
