I put my name in the title so I can find it again. I know, I'm retarded!

I just put the naked lady painting in the kiln for the second firing. I'm so excited/nervous!

In only 12 short hours I will know whether this worked.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Fucking hell, I meant to take a pic of it before the second firing. Oh well. Here's the link to it before the first firing (NSFW): http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3580/3654639471_b702b60e8d.jpg?v=0

I toasted my fingers and got a pic in the kiln: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3300/3657241081_b3963af345.jpg?v=0

Looks good!  How many firings do you normally do for a glass project like that?

Thanks! Three: one to melt the enamel onto the bottom layer, one to fuse the top sheet of clear onto it, and one to slump it into its final shape (in this case, a dessert plate).

I just crashed the kiln so the nerve-wracking part is over!  I just have to wait until it cools to see how well it turned out. I saw a couple of bubbles but they look deep enough to not worry about. Only one more chance at really fucking this up!

This is the gallery it's going in if I don't ruin it: http://goodpdx.com/

LOVE art from found objects.  There's a gallery in downtown Pasadena that does that.  Amazing stuff in their windows all the time.

I wonder when he's going to update that? July's theme is "Revolutions".

Lots of fodder for that going around, that's for sure!
