Do you understand at all what i'm getting at?  Is that your way of showing you understand and disapprove

What you've just agreed to is that you have no moral problem with lies, racism, humane treatment, or murder.

I'm so glad you're here.  What would we do without you?

We would just Ask Enrico without him.

The same things you do currently.  Enjoy your life and have your beliefs.  One day the military will be used appropriately, and i will do my function and it may be in a way that you approve.  Or not.  Oh well.

PM me, but i will not be able to answer you now.  I will be gone for a few weeks.  I will respond in depth when i return, if you are still interested.

Quote from: Pope Lecherous on April 28, 2009, 06:51:11 PMIt is not even the correct way to handle the problem.  The real problem.  The problem that the war was meant to address.  I didnt join up because i supported the war or disagreed with it.  Whether i agree or disagree with how it is conducted doesnt matter,  because that DOES NOT MATTER.

i want to know. cause you keep sidestepping this, what IS "the real problem", what IS it, what is the real problem the war is MEANT to address?

tell me, what

assume I'm completely ignorant about this war

(I am, actually, I don't watch much news or TV)

what is it for, what's it about?

why are you (the USA) in Iraq?

This war, while killing people dangerous to people you and i may care about, does not remove the source of them.  We can get wrapped up in how right or wrong it is, but it doesnt matter in the slightest.  It is not even the correct way to handle the problem.  The real problem.  The problem that the war was meant to address.  I didnt join up because i supported the war or disagreed with it.  Whether i agree or disagree with how it is conducted doesnt matter,  because that DOES NOT MATTER.

Oh! I get what you're saying!

Your opinion doesn't matter. So you're all edgy and nihilist and shit, right? Cool!

You consider that "clarification"?

WHAT IS "THE MISSION"?

THERE IS NO MISSION!

As a species, we don't actually benefit from being so numerous, and it creates logistical and environmental problems (from a selfish standpoint - I'm talking about MY environment, not jellyfish and pandas) that are difficult to resolve.

Natural selection occurs at the individual level, and it doesn't give a damn about your quality of life. If having so many children that they ruin the lives of themselves, their children, and everybody around them causes people's genes to be better represented in the gene pool, then that trait and tendency will persist and be reinforced. If a person instead decides that they will not contribute to overpopulation and chooses not to reproduce, then that too will reinforce the tendency for humans to overreproduce, because the genes of those who predisposed not to overreproduce are thusly removed from the gene pool :fnord:...

are you implying that there's a genetic link between the drive to reproduce and lack of education? or that stupid people have a stronger drive to reproduce? assuming that a predisposition to "overreproduce" is in fact genetic, that is.
