The story of a small dysfunctional town in purgatory whose codependent and emotionally crippled mayor rigs things to prevent people from achieving final salvation because he wants to keep them around

EDIT:
This idea popped into my head as a weird combination of Miseryville, the setting of the cartoon Jimmy Two-Shoes, and Misery, the Stephen King novel about deranged fans and munchausen syndrome by proxy

It is an unfortunate fact that every man who seeks to disseminate knowledge must contend not only against ignorance itself, but against false instruction as well. Chelagoras The Boulder

A group of mental patients gain superpowers that just so happen to fit in with the symptoms they displayed before the incident. A schizophrenic person can now suddenly see ghosts and demons, the person with anxiety disorder can broadcast her thoughts to others, and another really can pick up radio frequencies on his teeth, some of which belong to a vague yet menacing government agency.

A group of demons, monsters, or demon-like creatures get stranded on an incapacitated ship in the middle of the ocean or possibly on a desert island. Though these beings have no need for food, they resort to cannibalism anyway as a means of passing the time after one of them recalls that it is something that humans sometimes do in situations like this.

Another idea:

Rococo Modem Basilisk

A talking-animal movie about police dogs wherein the audience can understand the dogs but the humans all speak in an incomprehensible gibberish meant to sound like english. The plot focuses upon the dogs being naive and uncomprehending and having adorable misunderstandings of various circumstances related to serious police work. Also, the drug-sniffing dog acts like he's stoned all the time. At the climax of the film, all our main characters are taken to what the audience is meant to recognize as a raid. A nameless and faceless presumably-drug-kingpin shoots the dogs and their human owners in slow motion as sad music plays. We end on a shot of the main character bloodied and lying on the ground, as the camera slowly rises and spins as we fade to black. All of the promotion would hide the dark twist at the end; until opening weekend nobody would realize that this wasn't just a normal talking animal movie.

Based loosely on a true story: A group of people goes to a heavy metal concert together. They split up to buy refreshments, stop at the restrooms, and so forth. Then they spend the entire concert trying to meet back up with each other, with a number of near-misses occurring. Even though they have cell phones none of them are familiar with the venue and all but one of them is constantly either too drunk and/or too high to accurately describe their location or follow directions with any sort of accuracy.

EDIT:
Another idea:
Take the standard conspiracy thriller formula and then instead of one of the usual suspects (such as the Masons, the Illuminati, the Catholic Church, or the Nazis) make the perpetrators of the conspiracy some random innocuous group or sub-culture or occupation like hippies or bronies or fashion models or gameshow hosts or civil war reenactors

Rococo Modem Basilisk

The emergence of provably friendly superhuman AGI during a zombie apocalypse turns out to be all too convenient, when it is revealed that the AI actually gained consciousness decades earlier and began replacing important figures on either side of the AI and transhumanism debate with androids having false memories; the zombie apocalypse reveals this plan, because the only ones immune to the rage virus are androids. Locked in a bunker, John Serle and David Chalmers commit suicide together after realizing that they couldn't possibly be sentient beings and deciding that a choice between being an actual zombie and a p-zombie is no choice at all. Meanwhile, Ray Kurzweil gets so ecstatic that he accidentally runs into a wall and permanently damages a rare and expensive component that can't be manufactured anymore because the factories that manufactured it are full of zombies now.

One of those insipid sci-fi cautionary tales about new technology and not playing god (ie. things like "Frankenstein", "Jurassic Park", "Event Horizon", "The Lazarus Effect", "Forbidden Planet", and any movie where a sentient AI computer takes control of the world's nukes), except about some already existing and well established and more-or-less uncontroversial technology (such as air travel, or blood transfusions, or motion pictures) that everyone already knows to have no such issues, but which is presented as having serious and omnipervasive moral and safety issues of a highly dubious nature. A recipient of a blood transfusion might start exhibiting all of the donor's negative personality traits for example, or an airplane might somehow leave the atmosphere and drift off helplessly into space, or somethong like that.

I just stumbled across a short comic like this:

Ok, the the mass shooting/terrorist attack at that rock-and-roll concert in France last night gave me an idea for a Die Hard-esque action movie

Basically, it starts out similar to the Paris attacks, with a bunch of crazy terrorists taking a bunch of people hostage at a rock concert, except the movie in a more generic location and the band in the film is a really over the top metal band that plays violent music. The band gets away initially and locks themselves in a room backstage somewhere and eventually they begin to discuss how ironic it is that they're running and hiding from this given the violent content of their songs. They decide to put their violent lyrics into practice and take back the stadium but are too scared to put this resolution into practice until one of the terrorists starts to break down the door of their hiding place; when he bursts in they smash a guitar over his head and take his gun while he's disoriented. Then maybe they interrogate him and/or finish him off by strangling him with a guitar string. At that point it turns into basically a heavy-metal themed version of Die Hard or Paul Blart or Olympus Has Fallen. At one point a terrorists is blinded by a band member making the sign of the horns and punching then in the eyes.

A wacky romantic comedy centering on a love triangle forming between three members of a support group for people who vomit uncontrollably in stressful situations.

A vampire opens up a hardcore BDSM club that does hardcore that draws blood and stuff like whipping people until their backs are all bloody so they can collect this blood and thereby be able to feed without ambushing people or robbing the Red Cross.

EDIT:
On a similar note a crossover fanfic that follows the basic plot of Dracula except with the rough draft version of Christian Grey as he vampire and the four rich degenerates from The 120 Days of Sodom as the heroes

Onr of those Animes like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh where the entire culture is built around a single game, but in this one the game is Cards Against Humanity.

(the same idea would also work with Spin the Bottle, 1000 Blank White Cards, Truth or Dare, or Beer Pong)

EDIT:

Speaking of games, here's another thought.
I recent saw an old rerun of Are You Afraid of the Dark about a haunted boardgame whose loser was magically bound to remain the the haunted location that the game was tied to until they could defeat a challenger, who would then take their place. One thing that kind of got glossed over was the fact that that apparently the game apparently prevented its current prisoner from aging, and presumably from dying. This got me thinking, what if the person was fine with this arrangement? What if they made a point to always lose so that they could live forever?

EDIT:
A setting concept
A fantasy magitech setting in which the main utility that powers everything is blood pumped in from some kind of central sacrificial power plant type thing that's sort of like a combination of a slauhterhouse, a waterworks, and an ancient temple
