News:

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Those shootings in France yesterday gave me an idea:

A scatological porno movie about mohammed.  I'm not sure of the details, but possibly it includes a scene with Mohammed and either Jesus or Abraham reenacting "Two Girls One Cup", occuring some time after mohammed's wives leave him and become lesbians because his penis is too small.
Hmm, I like the idea but it is not quite funny enough. Your anger is showing through, and getting angry at a provocative act is letting the terrorists win.

Maybe something more like this?

It is an unfortunate fact that every man who seeks to disseminate knowledge must contend not only against ignorance itself, but against false instruction as well. Rococo Modem Basilisk

A person is followed by a spambot on twitter that responds with markov-model-generated nonsense whenever tweeted at. On a lark, he follows it and sends it messages. Over time, he becomes convinced that it's the ghost of his estranged father, who died after several years in an advanced state of dementia. He goes on a quest to find where the bot is physically hosted, and eventually ends up penniless and in the basement of an abandoned factory in Estonia, which houses an ad-hoc data center owned by the Russian mob. He is shot by a guard while attempting to carry an unplugged server rack down the street to the run-down motel he's been staying at.

The Aztecs were right about blood sacrifice being needed for the sun to rise, and the crops to grow, and the earth to exist (etc). The only reason the sun still rises and the crops still grow (etc) is because the Aztecs' mass sacrifices built up such a large extra positive balance.

Degenerate spag tags thread to remind himself to read it. Dwells upon his memetic weakness overlong. Ends with the ironical.

Life can be seen as a game with no reset button, no extra lives, and if the power goes out there is no restarting.  If that's all you see life as you are not long for this world, and never will get it.

Demolition Squid

It seems to be four unconnected stories at first; a woman trying to make her way in the big city, a teenage boy venting his frustrations through video games, an intellectual musing on issues of the day and someone seeking love and recounting their dates - all told through the medium of blog posts. It is slowly revealed through shared events that all four are the same person. Which identity is the 'real' face behind the screen is not revealed.

I was pretty sure that Janelle Monae albums were a retelling of Metropolis.

Yea, but that's why i wanna see it on film, with full-on cheesy 80's special effects and overwrought Soreyama-esque droid costumes.
