TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

SWEET!

I was thinking of bumping this one soon, so thanks on that one one too.

Salty

Yeah this is one of my favorite threads
There's a version of this song where he plays live with his totally awesome lady band. They rock that shit hard and the beat is played on what appears to be a piece of cardboard. The live one with pink suit is not that one but is also pretty good.
The world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

Antony and The Johnsons + Rufus Wainwright - What Can I Do?

I don't care for the video but it has the best sound quality.
The world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

That fucking VOICE.

LOL i can't get this one out of my head.

I was going to bump with this one:
The Mars Volta - The Widow

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUBQLnEGHNk

I like mars volta but can only take them in smaller doses.  Mainly because of the detail in their progressive fusion style and I really like to pay close attention to that kind of sound.  This song just blew me away though.  Just the dynamics alone are incredible.

Ooh yeah that was nice. There's a hell of a range all around.

I'm also glad you posted again cuz I didn't want to hog it up but this:

I feel responsible.

SHAMEFUL even.

Zombie by The Cranberries

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZJHZLFCwjE

One of the best songs to come out of the 90s.  And a serious song about serious shit happening in the world that doesn't sound pompous and bloated.  (yeah, I'm looking at you Bono!)
Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

Also, good call on the Louis Armstrong song.  You just can't go wrong with Satchmo.
Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

With Twilight As My Guide -- The Mars Volta (again)

Some of their stuff is just a bit too all over the place but damn every once and a while they just KILL me with beauty.

Janis Joplin - Ball and Chain (live in Germany '69)

She TEARS-IT-UP.  I'm not sure if i like this one better or the other version I have that I can't seem to find at this time.  I'm not the biggest Joplin fan but when she does it right she really does it right.

also: from the same album, The Ghost In You (Psychedelic Furs Cover)

He really does a damn fine job with it.
