My dad always called hot dogs "lungs and udders" while we were growing up, and we had a ton of pig farmers in our background...dunno, doesn't bother me much--the TEXTURE of the cold hot dog is worse to me than seeing this above.  I like mine hot because the things just ain't RIGHT when they are cold...
