I call call bullshit on this statement. If you read my stuff, and my other posts, you would know that shit already (or at least enough to have a general idea of what my "motivations" might be). As much as we think for ourselves, there is still a group sociality here based in democratic meritocracy. If you don't have merit established by actually contributing (or doing something funny or entertaining), or have negative merit from doing something stupid, you aren't accepted when you play "poke the n00b".

I started off with a genuine question (where do you draw the line) and when he avoided the question I kept prodding. I'm pretty much convinced that he hadn't thought these questions through, and I was trying to help him with this rather than just shitting on him for kicks. That's not my style.

Now it hadn't occurred to me that what I was doing could be classed as trolling, but I framed it that way because not letting Dimo1138 think for himself and express his own ideas does him no favours at all.
