The Good Reverend Roger

" It's just that Depeche Mode were a bunch of optimistic loveburgers."
- TGRR, shaming himself forever, 7/8/2017

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."
- TGRR, raising the bar at work.

Captain Utopia

A few torrid PM's later, and I'm happy to report that the feelings between Dimo and me are entirely mutual. He's promised me a ring. Hoping for a fall wedding.

WOMPing yourself makes me dislike you a lot less.

~Badge,
just a big ol softie
The Jerk On Bike rolled his eyes and tossed the waffle back over his shoulder--before it struck the ground, a stout, disconcertingly monkey-like dog sprang into the air and snatched it, and began to masticate it--literally--for the sound it made was like a homonculus squatting on the floor muttering "masticate masticate masticate".

I already liked him

I know, I know, I'm a pussy.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

I've played guitar for nearly 14 years now, classical guitar for 7+ years, played several parlor concerts for money and gotten good tips. I've also written music and published an album through Jamendo. And while I'm still horribly underqualified, I'll listen.

*upon listening*

This is punk no? Punk and metal? It should have me thrashing at the end if it really gets me deeply, but it just makes me feel apathetic, emphasis on pathetic. Because it IS pathetic. The lyrics are far from sublime and the whole thing sound generic. No passion, man, no passion.

Not that someone with my little experience has any right to have an opinion.

A) I write, record, and perform music.  (not sure why that should matter)
B) You forgot to list Lawnmower Deth as one of your influences
C) Alestorm does Pirate music much better
D) I will give you a compliment, your music is better than AKK's.

Thank you. I'll have to check out Lawnmower Deth and Alestorm. They sound pretty cool, where are they from?

England, Scotland respectively.

And I just want to add, that if you really want people to listen to your music and give an earnest critique, I think that is fine but dialing back the tude a little bit will go along way to help you.  Not everyone writes and composes music but the experience of listening and appreciating music, I think, is a fairly universal concept.  Basically, if you wanted only the input of musicians on your music, you should probably try a forum devoted to musicians.
Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

HOUSE OF GABCab ~ "caecus plumbum caecus"

Although, I think you guys have made your point. I am now going to get an office job in a cubicle at a paper factory where I need to wear a collar shirt+tie (possibly a sport-coat or other fancy jacket). I will golf on Sundays and watch television for the rest of the week. I will no longer yell ever, and I will constantly be apologizing to everybody because I don't want to make anyone mad at me. Thanks for showing me the way, guys. I'm going to go get a brief case. A brown one will be nice and dull, I think...

I didn't like his music because it was bad.

I don't like him because he's a histrionic twit.
