Notes: The self confessed "smartest guy on the internetstm" started with a bang in a verbose and long winded critique of Nigel's Your Body thread in OKM. Using a mixture of "I'm smarter than you" and "aspergers" as his main tactics he proceeded to attack BIP and Intermittens, making good use of the "broken quotes" and "I'ma take legal action" cards, among others and spawning the now infamous "your essay is mired in cartesian duality" catchphrase. Finally left after TGGR found some PI on him, turning up a pic of your average BDSF in chainmail drag and some creepy stalker-story from a chick on another forum.

That One Guy

Don't forget the Taboo Soup thread from Lamanite! It was the combo of the BIP thread and the Taboo Soup thread that really made Lamanite one of our all-star trolls.

As for who gets my vote for ultimate troll,  it's too close to call between AKK and Lamanite, but I'd have to give the edge to AKK, for sheer persistence, self-promotion and massive ego. Unlike many of the other trolls (IANAR being the most notable exception) AKK really seemed like he believed in his bullshit, and went from legitimately looking for people to stroke his ego and accept him to lashing out at the board for not doing so.

Also, don't forget AKK's horrible, horrible attempt to create a separate forum to rival and attack PD. How many of our greatest trolls have gone that far?
People of the United States! We are Unitarian Jihad! We can strike without warning. Pockets of reasonableness and harmony will appear as if from nowhere! Nice people will run the government again! There will be coffee and cookies in the Gandhi Room after the revolution.

Arguing with a Unitarian Universalist is like mud wrestling a pig. Pretty soon you realize the pig likes it.

I vote AKK or Eric (Great Teacher Largo).

AKK was harmless, but persistent as hell and funny in an unintentional way.

Eric was a fucking freak and a stalker.

also, Eric and Aini's founding of PD.org and subsequent disastrous decision to give me mod powers there was pretty fucking funny.

My all time favorite PD troll, however, has got to be Hugh.

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

Hugh and Eric were before my time. Are there any specific threads which showcase the hilarity?

It's funny, whenever anyone brings up Wade, I think of Wade Fulp. I still don't know who this particular Wade is, but the mental image of Fulp trolling this forum is good enough for me.

Wade was an annoying liitle twerp who tried to play with the big kids and got his ass handed to him.  There are those who found him amusing for a time, and those who thought he should just be shot.

I've always figured he was somewhere crying to his teddy bear about the big mean discordians and how they made him be all butthurt and whiny assed.

Or someone finally shot him.  Either one works for me! :lulz:

As so many great trollings were before my time, I really can't vote properly.  But, for the record, from reading what was out there, I have to go with AKK!

LMNO

Oh, who was that guy who "stared into the eyes of a wolf"?

Want a life changing, soul-expanding experience? Look deeply into the eyes of a Wolf, worked for me.

Mesozoic Mister Nigel

I kind of want to nominate Lumberjim, but I can't find any of his threads.

yo, this was like tag team idiocy.  DK really is a pro. There were multiple waves of people who dropped into that thread, debated with him for a while, then threw their hands up in the air out of frustration and left the thread. Then the next wave would come in. DK managed to keep up with all of it, frustrating and nauseating everybody that interacted with him. It really is persistence that made him such an excellent troll. And that he'd produce a wall of text each time you replied to him.

Dunno.  He was just obsessive.  Not on the same scale as Cowass, The Lamanite, or AKK.  I mean, these guys were TITANS of fail.

Yeah, but he was so persistently annoying, popping into various threads and derailing them in his quest for attention.

But he didn't produce any epic troll threads of his own so, ultimately, I agree with you. I just feel like he deserves honorable mention.

Dishonorable mentions are possible, I think.  Cram?
