Another brave, do-or-die moment from the democratic party.

That's been the criticism on Pelosi et al who've publicly called for him to step down.  That they're throwing him under the bus so that they can do business with the Republicans.  WHO, as we know, DO NOT ask for their OWN to step down.  EVAR.  Just the Democrats.  And so the Democratic establishment nods and does so.

Jeanine Garafalo bitched out the two media whores on Maher's show about that very thing on Friday night--saying if the media laid off Weiner's wiener, then there'd be more business done and more highlighting of shit THAT MATTERED.

But media whores hate hearing they're DOING IT WRONG.

I think had Chris Lee not voluntarily resigned, you'd have heard calls from the establishment repubs to step down.

You just can't survive something like that and remain a sitting republican in any level of office, much less get re-elected.

From a ratings POV, they're doing it right.

Yeah, but get them to ADMIT that.

Jeez.  Peel back the vinyl, why doncha?

Yeah, I just get sick of seeing them on shows like Maher's and Stewart's, pretending they're NOT the ones perpetuating the idiocies.  Fox News's schtick is NOW THE NORM.  THE NORM.

So fuck those guys.  The bloggers, the huffpos and yes, even Slate.com.  The only thing they're winning is ratings.  Big fucking deal.

Rome's burning.  And they're roasting wienies on the flames.

Literally.

I think Republicans are BETTER at making discreet offers that can't be refused in backrooms and dark corners of the legislature.  Democrats with their false sense of moral superiority and idiotic spiel about transparency just end up looking ungainly and unwieldly with their power structure.  When you have folks like CHARLIE RENGEL coming out to defend the immoral minority, something's a bit broken.  :lulz:

No, but it is more proof the Democrats are incapable of anything but eating their own.

QuoteLess than a year ago, in July 2010, Huma Abedin married Jewish U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner (D-NY). Attesting to the strength of her relationship with the Clintons, former President William J. Clinton officiated at the ceremony. Not unlike President Obama, the Clintons, as well as powerful politicos such as George Soros, are devotes of Saul Alinksy [sic] , who is considered "the founder of modern Community Organizing." From my position, I clearly see that the actions of this group signal their socialist agenda, which includes domination of the U.S. by a Muslim ruled world.

Which begs the question of whether Huma Abedin been groomed by family and political leaders to carry this agenda forward? ...Therefore we must consider that Mr. Weiner *may* have converted to Islam, because if he did not, we have to consider the unlikely, that being that Ms. Abedin has abandoned her Muslim faith, even while she still practices.

...The question that begs to be asked, however, is, has Huma been groomed to access leading political movers and shakers to advance the cause of Islam in America, including a politically positioned marriage to Congressman Anthony Weiner?

Naturally, it shall say NO in a large font, and nothing else.

Also, as a link I posted earlier in this thread shows, Weiner is one of the most die-hard pro-Israel Congressmen around.

But clearly making him support Israel somehow serves the Machiavellian plotting of "Islam in America".

Well yeah.  America's support of Islam is one of the major rallying issues for Islamic terror organizations after all.  He's helping them recruit.
You're a special case, Babylon.  You are offensive even when you don't post.

Merely by being alive, you make everyone just a little more miserable

Matt Stoller, former coffee-boy for Alan Grayson and Professional Economic Troll (of the right sort) is now mocking the American media via Politico:

QuotePrior to the scandal, Washington's chattering class was debating the debt ceiling, gas prices, instability in the financial markets, a collapsing housing sector and an economy balanced between a (mostly) jobless recovery and a renewed recession. Post scandal, the issues are largely the same — right down to the question of whether (or really when) Greece will default.

Sure, Democrats had spent a few weeks whacking the Washington "It" boy, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), on his plan to give seniors coupons and complimentary copies of P90X instead of medicine. But that issue isn't going away. Or if it is, that's because of the debt ceiling negotiations — in which Democrats and Republicans are expected to agree on Medicare cuts.

The simple fact is: There's no governing agenda being debated. So Weiner wasn't a distraction — more like an in-flight soft-core movie in between election jockeying by a bored political class.

For confirmation, let's look at the economist Rebecca Blank, a candidate to replace Austan Goolsbee as the White House's chief economic adviser. Blank is a "pragmatic progressive" economist, which apparently means someone who feels bad about the damage caused by the problems they aren't trying to fix.

"Could this economy take off again?" Blank said recently in the National Journal, "The answer is absolutely yes. If you look at corporate profits, if you look at consumer balance sheets [improving] ... gas prices are falling. I guess I understand the reason to say, 'Let's see if this economy can do it on its own.'"

On its own? Really? Tell this to the more than 9 percent currently unemployed.
