I have been thinking about the BIP in terms of awareness of others perspectives and experiences recently and have found it pretty useful to get my head around intersectionality... That's a post for another time tho.

I've usually heard it in a context of 'managed to lie my way out of trouble'.

'I blagged my way past the police officer' or 'he tried to blag his way out of being fired, but it didn't work', that sort of thing. I've never heard it used in another context, but I'm mostly london-based, I can believe it means other things up'tut north or in the wilds of the south.

Blag used to mean "get into something for free" down here. Like getting free stuff or onto a guest list for a club or gig or summat..

I have still never read the whole of the BIP. Parts of it, but not the whole thing. It isn't important to me. That's not to make light of the people who put hard work into it or for whom it IS important.

Furthermore, someone getting a personal chill of loathing when a word is used in a certain context does not invalidate all uses of that word.

At least it kind of makes sense when it's related to food, because it refers to a specific process of using all-carbon-based nutrient sources and no antibiotics or hormones to grow the food, which in turn forces farmers to grow in more sanitary conditions. In Oregon it's illegal to label a food product "organic" unless it meets specific guidelines. It makes NO SENSE AT ALL related to lube, I'm like, what is it? Where does it come from? What does it mean? I went to some websites and found no answers there.
