We've been watching the Olympics on and off all weekend, and we agreed the beginning was kinda laem.  The flying Peter Pan dude was just so ridonkulous, but hey, I'm not a producer of quality live entertainments or nothing, so what do I know?  My husband just sat there saying it was the "anti-Chinese" opening (as in: not a million fucking people all at once, but a buncha solo acts), and kept repeating he liked the Chinese one better.  *shrug*

I like the Olympics till about day 4, when I am extremely over it by then.  They seem to drag on somewhat.

I just missed it yesterday, but I don't typically like short program anyway. Long program makes the figure skaters work for it, damnit. Also, I really think ice dancing is retarded, it's for figure pairs that are too big of pussies to do the acrobatics.

Does anyone remember that Canadian figure pair from a while ago? I don't think they've competed since Nagano, but they were batshit insane and he was covered in tattoos from all the Olympics they skated in. They always did really dangerous shit...yeah...you don't see that much anymore.

I caught the Chinese couple on just before I went to bed--stayed to watch it b/c t hey apparently "broke records" (am I the only one who reads spoilers before watching the events? ) with their routine.  It was a'ight.  I was rooting for them mostly because they are older than your average skater, lmao.

I haven't heard of any of the female skaters this year, but I'm so sick of Johnny Weir I could strangle him.

Also, I'm about to watch this shit with the volume off, because the announcers having a jizz-attack each time something happens is so fucking annoying it's killing what little joy I have in watching teh games.

I almost feel bad for Bob Costas, because he knows for 2 weeks of his life every 2 years he has to say a lot of the same cliche shit over and over and over again, losing sleep in some corner of the world. And on top of it, every Summer Olympics year is also a Presidential election year, so by the time November is over he's probably on Ambien and anti-depressants.
