I asked a question before I left for work today

...and now I can't seem to find the thread it was in. So now I have to start a new thread and I really didn't want to but I really wanted opinions.

So there's an opening for a training coach at work.
I'll keep my base pay but lose most of my incentive pay which is kind of like a commission and sometimes a considerable amount of money.

Pros-
-- getting off my damn machine and letting some of my back and shoulder problems heal
-- having more "management" experience on my resume
-- the possibility of a greater chance for relocation when they phase us out next year
-- getting to move around, teach people stuff and learn something new
-- GETTING OFF MY MACHINE
-- a sense of purpose

Cons-
-- less pay

You could reorganize your finances.  Adopt some lifestyle changes...you'll already be making changes, the rest of them should just come along for the ride, right?

More or less sad than to keep at a job that stresses you out and causes you physical pain? That stuff adds up quicker and lasts longer than money.

IMO, mental and physical health almost always outweighs money.

I say do it to save your back alone.  Like was said above, you can adapt to less money.  You only get one back.
