Also, definitely fly.  The drive from Chicago is 30 hours, if you speed like a bastard.  From Rhode Island?  You'll never make it.  You'll be set upon by CHUD in a truck stop in Indiana.

The East likes me Dok, and it does not let go easily.  I have sailed the coast, walked the forests, and nearly died on the rocks.  I was laughing the whole time.  I've gone off on foot when mortals fear to drive.  I have divested myself of the trappings of humanity to better adapts, and run (half) naked when it works better than staying clothed.  Dump me in the countryside here, and I'll build myself a life out of what's in my bag, my pockets, and my immediate area.

It knows me, and makes driving out a real pain.  Flying is the only option.

Went to White Sands in New Mexico once.  Walked east for five minutes.  Experienced QUIET like nothing I have ever felt before.


It was lovely.  Would go back again.
