I will see the desert, soon hopefully.
I like the concept of a desert.  I may be one of the desert loving English that just ended up on the wrong continent.
Maybe I'd like it too much, like Lawrence.

The desert is, if nothing else, quiet.

Also, definitely fly.  The drive from Chicago is 30 hours, if you speed like a bastard.  From Rhode Island?  You'll never make it.  You'll be set upon by CHUD in a truck stop in Indiana.

Well, I better start saving funds now, just in case.

Also, fly into Tucson, through Newark.

Do NOT fly into Phoenix, if you can possibly avoid it.

Suu

We can fly to Tucson via Southwest right out of Providence Warwick.

The East likes me Dok, and it does not let go easily.  I have sailed the coast, walked the forests, and nearly died on the rocks.  I was laughing the whole time.  I've gone off on foot when mortals fear to drive.  I have divested myself of the trappings of humanity to better adapts, and run (half) naked when it works better than staying clothed.  Dump me in the countryside here, and I'll build myself a life out of what's in my bag, my pockets, and my immediate area.

It knows me, and makes driving out a real pain.  Flying is the only option.

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

That and I think flying will actually be cheaper than a 45 hour drive.

Yeah.  The gas one way covers one person's ticket.  Add rental, prostitutes, food, weaponry, brain damage, bail, drugs, etc...

If you east coast spags decide to come to Tucson, that would be wonderful!  :D

August probably wouldn't work though. I'd be just coming back from Celebration V or Pennsic.

In fact. My schedule isn't really open until October. But it would have to be early October so I don't miss peak foliage.

Went to White Sands in New Mexico once.  Walked east for five minutes.  Experienced QUIET like nothing I have ever felt before.

It was lovely.  Would go back again.

Suu

I can't sleep when it's quiet.

Neighbors fucking, sirens screeching, car accidents, gun shots, pouring rain and thunder, however...
