I'll probably be in California from May 18th-25th.  I'm staying with my awesome retired uncle whose town I forget but I'm flying into Oakland so it'll probably be in that vicinity.  I won't have a car, partially because I think you need to be 25 to rent one and partially because I don't feel like paying money.  I have absolutely no plans for doing anything during that time other than arrive and depart from the airport.

Any suggestions for the area would be greatly appreciated.  Anyone in the area would be awesome to meet.  I'm up for anything.

I've never taken a vacation before.  As in taken the time from work, booked the flight, stayed somewhere, etc.  I'm assuming this is how one vacations and such.  Never been to CA either.  I think I might like to see the Pacific Ocean.

I'll be in Canada at that time.  I trust you will be available sometime between June 9-14th, when I am in Providence?

Update on this.  That weekend is the only one EoCGF and I could both get off in order to head down to DC.  Unfortunately, I won't be available the 11th-13th.  The other days I'll be working, but I'm not so far out of Providence that a trip down before work would be out of the question.

The kid's father lives out there in Temecula.  If he should suffer an unfortunate accident.....  well that would be just terrible wouldn't it? 

So like if you see him and pretend not to see him and then accidentally run over him.... 

My gratitude would be never ending and you can have my first born....  well you could actually have him anyway, he's eating me out of house and home!

I used to get the cold nose and or cat tongue on the inside of my elbow at 5am. This was fine when I had to get up at 5 to work in Boston, but not so fine when I started working nights. For some reason Rin didn't grasp the schedule change and assumed that when she was up at 5, I was supposed to be too and feeding her immediately. I can't tell you how many times she and Spawncat did in fact, manage to get me out of bed to feed them.  

It's creepy when they both lay on you and stare, especially since in the dark Mishu is just an ominous black shape with yellow eyes anyway.

I will make an effort to murder as many San Franciscans as possible in my visit.  That was already my plan for Thursday.

Seriously?  There is only one great BBQ place here in St. Louis and that is Pappy's.  They open at 11, if you aren't there by 10:45 you are in line for a minimum of 45 minutes.  They close at 4 or when they run out of food, which usually means they are closed by around 3.

Otherwise, the best BBQ I have EVER eaten was in Bluff City, TN.  A place called Ridgewood Barbeque.  IMO the absolute best barbeque there is!  But then I'm partial to TN BBQ, I like mine sweet and spicy.

Looks like I've secured a tour of Google from my girlfriend's cousin for this trip.  So I have that, probably wine country, San Francisco for a day or so, and the beach as things I'd like to do.  Are the beaches any good in the bay area?
