Well, apparently they are trying to describe spirits, describing their material and spiritual correspondences. I'm no super-expert or anything but I have an honorary PhD in Larnin Stuf from the Internet and role-playing splat-books, making most of the information I have several times removed from any primary source. Uncoding this sort of thing is a 300-meter lap relay through an Olympic-sized pool of BS.

This at first glance really seems like bullshit. The fact that the header of this page says "SHAMAN CHAOS MAGICK" is irksome - the only "shamans" left in the world, the only ones that really existed to begin with in the strictest sense are the folk spiritual practitioners in Mongolia and Russia, in the taiga, the steppe and around Lake Baikal. Hell they made the word "shaman" and should be the /only/ people to use it. Anywho these folks claim to combine surrealism, pop-occultism and pictures of naked girls. Each of these are fine by themselves, but you know the saying about too many cooks.

It is in fact porn, very /very/ heavily photoshopped with lots and lots of Goth stereotypes and text derivative of John Dee's Lesser Keys of Solomon the Wise, in an attempt to turn the prawn stars into Goetic demon-chicks. I imagine it makes for some imaginative fap sessions, but yeah. I've seen half of these women already, so maybe those who are not internet porn afficionados will find it more artsy than I.

Sure, but the word "shaman" comes from the Turkic root pronounced roughly the same way. It's really not much of an argument, I know. I'm not Franz Boas, but should have qualified my statement more. Still, I wanted to ninny and point out that lots of folks misuse the word "shaman" to mean something it isn't. Most animistic cultures have "shamanic" practices worked into their belief systems.

That's beside the point, anyway: Hmong, Balinese, traditional Native American practices are a lot closer to the definition of "shaman" than say the creator of this website.

The Hmong have shamans as we understand the word, but the word itself is more appropriately tied to Russian Native Animism.
For example, Native Americans don't have shamans, they have medicine men. Same thing but cultural difference/different religion. Different word should be used. Shaman is used in English as a blanket term, but doesn't mean it's accurate.
