I think they have Apocalypse Fatigue. They gotten themselves so worked up over the last several decades that ennui is finally starting to creep in. A smart person would start questioning their belief in the Second Coming, but this is Rapture Ready we're talking about. If Jesus himself told them that he ain't coming back they still wouldn't believe it.
