News:

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

You guys just spent the last three pages complaining about an alt that, with five minutes of actual fucking research, you would've known belonged to Cram since he made it explicit from the start?

What a bunch of fucking pantywaists.  Get a grip.

I read shit like this

QuoteOn a board like this, using an alt is fraught with potential consequences that need to be taken into consideration. Just doing it on a whim is probably never going to end well. Especially for a veteran poster.

and decided whatever whiny drama was caused/resulted wasn't worth my precious time.  People without fucking basic research skills, ITT.

-Fred,

Roaring Biscuit!

so what happened was...  thread, argument, and then apology...  after the alt was uncovered*...  and discovered* that it was in fact a long term poster...

Holy Shit. I just felt bad because of the way I treated Cram who I like and respect. Also I felt he made some good points about the way we automatically treat n00bs.

the last yatto

Look, asshole:  Your 'incomprehensible' act, your word-salad, your pinealism...It BORES ME.  I've been incomprehensible for so long, I TEACH IT TO MBA CANDIDATES.  So if you simply MUST talk about your pineal gland or happy children dancing in the wildflowers, go talk to Roger, because he digs that kind of shit

Cramulus

it's not about noobs, it's about ideas. Is this a fertile ground for ideas?

if I post a shitty idea as Cramulus, can I even get real feedback about it?

Can an idea coming from left field actually get discussed, or does it have to come from a reputable source?

This has also highlighted to me that dogpiles cannot be rational discussions.

also, some people here suck at discussions as soon as their emotions get engaged.

I'll be around as long as PD is useful for building cool ideas. We have to add new voices and weird opinions to the mix or we are doomed to talking to each other about the same 9 ideas and 9 in-jokes for all time.
