But worth a read- What may be one of Christopher Hitchens last writings.

- So the New World Order does not actually exist?
- Oh it exists, and how!
Ask the slaves whose labour built the White House;
Ask the slaves of today tied down to sweatshops and brothels to escape hunger;
Ask most women, second class citizens, in a pervasive rape culture;
Ask the non-human creatures who inhabit the planet:
whales, bears, frogs, tuna, bees, slaughtered farm animals;
Ask the natives of the Americas and Australia on whose land
you live today, on whose graves your factories, farms and neighbourhoods stand;
ask any of them this, ask them if the New World Order is true;
they'll tell you plainly: the New World Order... is you!

The only thing that's sad is that he's written as much as he has.

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

Heh, what's your beef with Hitchens?

He's always struck me as a pretty admirable guy, and a lot more interesting then dorkens.

I really don't see any resemblance in any sense, care to elaborate?

I do, but you'll have to wait until I've cleaned the galley and had my morning nap, because I'd like to give you some links and something more thoughtful than one-liners.

there was a point in his career where I liked his writing, but that was over years ago. I'll give you my thoughts in-depth after lunch.

Also, as much as I've come to abhor his views I don't really want him to die from cancer. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I'm really not into his preemptive nuking of the middle east strategy, among others. Strikes me as a little monster-ish, if you know what I mean. Just a little bit.

His views on religion are great. But his views on stuff that matters kinda bug me.

He is a good writer and debater, but I find his views too dogmatically seasoned for my tastes. Not as bad as Dawkins who seems to suffer from talking about topics he's not an expert in... but still not really skeptical.

You could somewhat defend his more crazy views but saying, "he's probably just drunk. again."

Personally, never been much of a Hitchens fan and disagree with him probably more then I agree (some of views on Muslims are narrow and slightly dangerous) though I enjoy reading and watching him cause he's entertaining.
