I dig your workflow, and it's really interesting to see how styles differ.

'Getting' lighting is hard, I know. I'm still learning stuff, and I know 3-4 different CG lighting engines, so I have some conception of the math involved, bounce behavior, etc. You have a very good eye for it. The hair (and your foliage in the earlier ones) are great brushwork.

Your shit is really good.  Also, the time frame isn't important...Manubu had agreed to a set date, and I wound up fucked at the Tucson Comicon because he didn't deliver (alongside two other artists).

In your case, just get to it when you get to it.  I never gave you a timeframe, and at least you're being honest about the lack of progress...Something distinctly lacking in comic artists, in my experience.

if you are going for super realistic it might help if you didnt make everything quite so smooth looking... like make things have a bit more texture and whatnot. looks like you get sligtly excited with the blend and smudge tools
otherwise THIS SHIT IS BALLINNNNNNN, YO! and theres no shame in tracing it helps learn, or just make stuff go fasterrr

It's more a case of I don't have the patience to get super realistic, what you see is as far as I can be arsed taking it. There's no blend or smudge in there I build the whole thing up with airbrushes so the smudgy stuff is where I didn't paint in any detail. I actually looked at the teeshirt close up on this one and actually thought about trying to sketch it in but it'd have taken me months so I just scribbled some shade in and walked away
