My interpretation might seem short-sighted, but i dont think it is, and i understand that the other interpretation works too.

Im not sure yet what is bugging me about it. Something along the lines that people are idiots like dogs that are better off not moving out of the status quo because they'll just fuck it up.

I like both versions, except that in the first version, well i already pointed it out, while in the second version i think having a talking dog breaks the pace but adds more layers to the meaning of the parable.

In a lot of ways, I agree with you. But, on the other hand, it was written with an intended purpose, and I feel this way is more true to that purpose, but still allows for personal interpretation.
