I'll ask my mom.  She's pretty good at baking.

Whatever

2 sticks of butter (recipe never specified, but I use unsalted)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 cups flour (I've used all purpose and cake - didn't see a lot of difference it's a "dense" recipe)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (if you cover with chocolate and toasted almonds, you can use almond extract, well actually depending on taste you can use either almond or vanilla, either works)

Sift dry ingredients.
Combine all ingredients and knead until well blended.
You can roll out or press into a pan, depending on if you want to make shaped cookies or cut them when they are warm.  I use a fork to prick the top every so often so the holes end up in the center of my bars.

Now, you can when you take these out, cover them with melted chocolate chips and toasted almonds.  They are really good like that.  I've also dipped the bars directly in melted chocolate and covered the entire bar not just the top.  MMMMMMM

Liam says thank you very much!  And I second that thank you, those sounds delicious.
just like in a dream
you'll open your mouth to scream
and you won't make a sound

you can't believe your eyes
you can't believe your ears
you can't believe your friends
you can't believe you're here
