In a dystopian world, one where free speech/thought is repressed.

WHAT if anything do the ideas/tools of Discordianism have to offer?

Discordianism wouldn't exist, so... nothing? :?
- So the New World Order does not actually exist?
- Oh it exists, and how!
Ask the slaves whose labour built the White House;
Ask the slaves of today tied down to sweatshops and brothels to escape hunger;
Ask most women, second class citizens, in a pervasive rape culture;
Ask the non-human creatures who inhabit the planet:
whales, bears, frogs, tuna, bees, slaughtered farm animals;
Ask the natives of the Americas and Australia on whose land
you live today, on whose graves your factories, farms and neighbourhoods stand;
ask any of them this, ask them if the New World Order is true;
they'll tell you plainly: the New World Order... is you!

People still practice Falun Gong in China, and still practised that... um... the type of Christianity that they weren't allowed to in Romania.

Lets assume there are people who practised before we reached dystopia. So think 1984 I guess, as that was a comparable scenario, where not everyone had known only the present situation.

Well I suppose then if enough people read it, there would be some kind of underground resistance group trying to fight back and regain the freedoms we should all be entitled to.

Otherwise, those who have no groups, will just pretend to be a part of the system trying to throw spanners into the cogs of the machine.

I suppose.

the last yatto

Depends on how many survive a night of knifes,
Tactic really depends on the oppressor
Look, asshole:  Your 'incomprehensible' act, your word-salad, your pinealism...It BORES ME.  I've been incomprehensible for so long, I TEACH IT TO MBA CANDIDATES.  So if you simply MUST talk about your pineal gland or happy children dancing in the wildflowers, go talk to Roger, because he digs that kind of shit

The PD might be an underground book like Goldstein's book... though the jokes would either work very much for it, or completely against it.  Or might not affect it at all.  Did I cover all my bases?
"Soon all of us will have special names" — Professor Brian O'Blivion

"Now's not the time to get silly, so wear your big boots and jump on the garbage clowns." — Bob Dylan?

"Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)"

I think that even in a high power security state, people are still going to take solace in absurdism.

Kopyleft is originally a Discordian tool, one that has a lot of utility in places where information is tightly controlled.

Nonsense as Salvation, the Turkey Curse...

the idea that after a long winter of Bureaucracy, there is hope of Aftermath

I really like everything in this post. And agree.
Of course, in a 1984-world, there wouldn't be much hope... Winston just taking a few seconds off his exercise routine was enough to alert the exercise overseer.

I have a feeling that trying to invoke the turkey curse would be punishable by death.
