The Hapsburgs were horny little buggers.

I know I'm related to Yorkish nobility in some way, as my family on my mother's side used to own a lot of land in the old part of York City, but on my father's side its a Scottish clan aligned with the Frasers, members of whom were sent to Australia  for the crime of being Scottish in an English Empire (probably).

If you're Yorkish, there's a good chance you could be Norse/Viking. My Italian side is actually Spanish in that aspect. Castiglia as a surname is a dead giveaway.

I actually recently found that my English side had been the primary landowner of Bishopscastle, Essex since feudal times up until the 19th century. What an interesting place that is...almost a little too close to Wales for my comfort, though.

It's possible.  I don't know exactly how far back the ties to York go, but through the general population there, the chances of some diluted Norse blood are fairly high.

Wait, Essex is close to Wales?  Are you sure you haven't confused it with Exeter?

Richter

Back in England there's a ruin with my family's last name on it.  Not certain if there's any connection, the records only go back to the point where we got off a boat in Boston back in the 1620's.

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

I might be...I got confused with other stuff. Bishop's Castle is in Shropshire. One of the ancestors eventually moved to Essex before they moved to the colonies in the 17th century.

Your region/county/town system sucks.

Well, Essex is too close to Wales, but then so is Ireland.  Or France.   Or Outer Mongolia.  It's just that Exeter is much closer.  As is Shropshire, for that matter.

It's not so bad, except for everything ending in -shire and each town and village sharing it's name with seventeen others.

Apparently my family fought to keep Wales contained and establish the border in the 16th century. Seriously, we're heroes.

At least Prince Harry will never get that Windsor look.

He's never been that attractive anyway.

None of them are oil paintings, but I couldn't pass up a chance at making fun of Harry's parentage (again).

I thought they did a DNA test and proved that Charles was his father a while ago? Unless I missed some sort of recent development...

Also, has England EVER had attractive royalty? Consorts don't count, because Diana was actually pretty.

Elizabeth II was a drop-dead hottie when she was young.

So was Victoria. And we all know the tragic end to that story.

I see he gave her Di's ring...the tabloids are going to eat this shit up...Soon the Duchess of Cornwall is going to try to cut off her finger or something.

Now, if I remember my peerages correctly, when they marry, they'll be given a duchy, but it will be non-hereditary or something, right? That way she has a title going into a possible coronation and can be a legit queen? Or will she only be a princess consort?

I think so.  That's how they worked it for Camilla, anyway, once she married she was the Duchess of Cornwall (lail).

They may just make her Princess-consort to avoid the possible Camilla comparisons, though.
