For my part, I've replaced optimism and believing the best of people by default with a grin and the absolute 100% certainty that if they cannot find a pig to fuck, they will buy some bacon and play oinking noises on YouTube.

President Mahmud Ahmadineyad accuses the USA and Israel to be behind the assasination of the most important specialist in nuclear isotope separation.

A couple of bikers purpotedly sticked bombs to the cars transporting said scientist while on the move.

Not the first one to die this way. And...what a surprise, no-one is claiming responsibility.

US Special Forces are reportedly operating in Iran, btw.

The killed scientist was also an expert on Stunext, apparently.

Not yet, unfortunately.  I know they're well connected on the international neocon circle...but at the same time I cannot, as of yet, figure out any angle as to why telling people he was a Stunext expert would help their agenda (if anything, it makes me more suspicious that this was a US or Israeli hit), so I decided to run with it.

fearing assassination for working with Iran on their nuclear program sounds like a good motivation to not do it.  That would make it a good angle to work: we're not going to admit we did it, but this guy was doing something we don't want and oops, look what happened to him.

It's big, out in the open and made to get media attention.

I could see this being exactly the sort of thing US or Israel would want to "take credit" for without actually admitting it.

True.  I should have said "stated this was the case when it was not".  I cannot see a motive to mislead, at the moment (more information can always change that state of affairs).

Persona Facade

It is not that unlikely that the United States was somehow involved in this assassination. Whether that be by orchestrating it directly, supplying equipment to the perpetrators, or merely informing a group that harbors dislike towards the Iranian regime. Regardless this can be classified as a conflict in which both sides are utilizing both espionage and terrorism to meet their own ends.
The United States has been outed for supporting militant insurgent groups in Iran and Iran supporting militant insurgent groups in the US occupied Iraq. It is not too much a stretch to imagine that the United states just took one of Iran's pieces, now it is Iran's move.
