You're right of course. It doesn't look good, vociferously railing at these numb fucks for their appallingly crass behaviour at funerals, then going and doing exactly the same thing when it's one of them being put in the ground.

I have no problem with Phelps having a nice, small, dignified funeral. So much so, in fact, that I'd like him to be present himself, alive, and conscious, and nailed into his coffin so he can enjoy the dignity of it himself. It would be an awful; shame if he were to miss it, just because he was dead. And I think his faith is probably strong enough for his God to afford him this special privilege, in thanks for a lifetime of selflessly spreading His Word among the Hell bound Sinners, that even one of them might find their way to the Light, and be Saved.  Hallelujah!

In the end, only five Westboro congregants showed for the protest, which took place in a cold, steady rain.

Other public mourners included as many 150 supporters who gathered a few blocks away from the church for a counter-demonstration against a group of picketers from the controversial Westboro Baptist Church.
