I had a boyfriend in 10th grade who about one month after we started dating, claimed he could ionize the air and bust invisible evil cloud-spirits with his mind.

Any and all feelings of infatuation for this boy quickly dissipated. I mean, I was immediately repulsed...it was that strong.

I have no idea how this could possibly work in reverse for anyone. I'm beginning to think that there are "spiritual/delusional orientations" in much the way that there are sexual orientations--some people who are just naturally predisposed to feel a sense of truthiness about bullshit because for me, the revulsion was basal and immediate. I had no choice in the matter: after the "cloud-demon" speech, the boy was toast.
