Informed Consent? We don't need no fucking informed consent.

Quote"Indian students duped by Tri-Valley University in California have been fitted with GPS devices by US immigration authorities. Scores of Indian students were caught in a scam where the university violated immigration norms and illegally got the students F1 visa and immigration status. To keep a track on the movements of the students, the authorities have fitted them with GPS devices. This is spiraling into a major diplomatic row between India and the USA, with the former calling the practice inhuman and unwanted."

Would people have preferred if they sat in a cell for 6 weeks?  :?

Article is worded badly.  The students were scammed in that their paperwork was illegal, they were aware they were radio tagged.  Those clunky ankle bracelets aren't something you can exactly sneak on.

The university is blaming two student staffers for scamming the students.  A radio tag seems a lot more humane than just rounding 'em all up and tossing them on the next jet home.  The university has shut down, apparently, meaning this scam has cost a LOT of students a lot of trouble.

If Luna was a furry, she'd sex humans and scream "BEASTIALITY!" at the top of her lungs at inopportune times.

I like the Luna one. She is a good one.

People are renting vehicles with GPS and they have no idea how it works and they are willing to trust the GPS to lead them into the middle of nowhere.'"

Huh.  Maybe we've been giving the robots too little credit by expecting an armed uprising.

Maybe the uprising already happened, and their armies got lost on the way?

I'll bet none of my fucking tax dollars were wasted in gratuitous fashion on each of those goddamned trackers.

No, we give them too little credit. They are reducing the human population by a few people per year by getting them lost in the desert. One day you will want to drive from NYC to Boston and you'll see a detour through the mojave desert, and then you will know fear  :fnord:
