TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

Neither.  I was quoting Suu's link.

There's actually rumors he's fled Cairo and had pre-recorded his message.  At this point, this may be just a measure taken to get the streets cleared and revenues still streaming in.  Egypt's going to be going bankrupt unless it gets back to work.  And their labor issues are NOT going to be resolved--the power structure has barely been razed.  *shrug*  But this feeling of empowerment's been earned, I think.

I realized that.

Oh goddamnit.

Nevermind, so sorry I offended.

The real victory is that of the narrative.  I see this as a rinse/repeat issue.  It seems less important whether the new guard will emulate the old guard, but that you've got a set of people who believe that they can make a difference, and who will be pissed off with anyone who stands in their way.

Edit - that's why I'm excited about this, at least.

Likewise here. It will also be interesting to see how this effects the region. The outcomes might not be that pleasant but it makes me wonder.

Adios

This really is an incredible time in history.
18 days of open protests.
Only 300 - 400 casualties.
Limited property damage.
One of the most entrenched dictators in the world is unseated.

The Egyptian people displayed humanity and class, perhaps better than any other group of humans under these circumstances ever has.

Captain Utopia

Also, dictators who aren't as well entrenched probably aren't sleeping very well tonight.
